Living and working on the farm has given the couple a very busy sixteen years together. Restoring and lovingly renovating parts of the buildings and extending their brood with a young family, a herd of red ruby Devon cattle, Dartmoor white face sheep and chickens, there’s always something on the to do list.
The land is shared with visiting deer and a wide variety of birdlife.
As an artist/designer, Sarah’s studio is based onsite and the couple work closely together on a number of projects which launch in the shared offices. Developing a flower farm at the bottom of the valley, seasonal flowers grow throughout the year whilst the kitchen garden thrives with homegrown produce.
The Mill Cottage was renovated in 2009 with a refurbishment in 2022. It was lovingly restored from the farms old flour mill where grain would have been sent down to it from the granary above. It’s romantic, inspired by the kitchen garden, with prints, patterns and fabrics that ooze country life.
The Book Nook is new for 2024. It’s a log cabin inspired by a love of books and literature. It was hand crafted and made as sustainably as possible, re-using, upcycling and renovating all from scratch and by re-purposing a trailer for the base of the build. The design is therefore quirky, creative and inventive. With a log burner, garden and the addition of a Narnia wardrobe (who needs anything more!) it’s a very magical place to curl up in.
